ERVING, MA-Walter L. Gagne, 55, of French King Highway died Wednesday April 18, 2012 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

He was born on Oct. 30, 1956 in Montague, the son of Nelson and Beatrice (Robbins) Gagne.

Walter attended Turners Falls High School and received his G.E.D. in 1991 of which he was very proud to achieve.

Walter was a mechanic having work for Renaud Rides for 10 years and also worked for Strathmore Paper Company as a sizer for 19 years.

He was an avid bingo player. Walter enjoyed fishing and love to spend time with his grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 35 years the former Rita Jenness, a son Wally and his wife Lisa of Greenfield, a daughter, Lisa Bourque and her husband George of West Roxbury, two brothers, Butch Gagne of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Dennis Gagne of N.H., three sisters, Pat Potter and her husband Al of South Deerfield, Valerie Gagne Chamberlian of Stuart, Fla. and Carol Gagne of Turners Falls, and two grandchildren, Madison and Brodie. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Walter was predeceased by a brother, Dick Coy and a sister Arlene Brady.

A memorial service will be held Monday, April 23, 2012 at 2 pm at the Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

A calling hour will be from 1 pm till the time of service at the funeral home.
