Barbara A. Fugere
MONTAGUE CITY — Barbara A. (Foster) Fugere, 79, of S. High St., died Wednesday (10-19-11) at the Buckley Health Care Center in Greenfield.
She was born in New Brunswick, Canada on May 26, 1932 the daughter of Neil and Freida (Ambrose) Foster.
She was a graduate of Turners Falls High School and had a been a resident of Montague City most of her life.
Barbara was employed for the former Sullivan Drug Store in Greenfield. Previously, she was a switchboard operator for the former Farren Memorial Hospital where she also was a volunteer in the gift shop.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Church in Turners Falls.
Survivors include two sons, Paul of St. Cloud, Fla., and Chris of Montague City, three daughters, Mary Lou Galbraith and Donna Ewell, both of Turners Falls and Laurie Gray of the state of Florida, a sister, Janice Karparis of Feeding Hills, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Rosemarie Fugere and a son, David Fugere.
Services, all in Turners Falls, will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Peace Church, 90 Seventh St., with the Rev. Stanley J. Aksamit, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Anne’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 at the funeral home.
