ORANGE — Mary J. (McDonald) Fritz, 75, of Redbrook Lane, formerly of South Deerfield, died Wednesday (10-19-11) at Poet's Seat Health Care Center in Greenfield.
She was born in Seattle, Wash., on March 6, 1936, the daughter of John and Johanna (Brammley) McDonald. She was a graduate of Marcus High School in Marcus, Wash. She had been a resident of South Deerfield prior to moving to Orange in 2007.
Mary was a homemaker and day care provider and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Christian "Chris" H. Fritz; two daughters, Anita Phillips and her husband, Mike, of Orange and Dorothy Adams and her husband, Joe, of Turners Falls; two sisters, Lorraine Cybulski of Clinton, Md., and Dorothy Lagerstedt of Woodinville, Wash.; six grandchildren, Kelly Gauthier and her husband, Dan, Daniel Abrahamson, Jay Niedbala and his wife, Jessica, Kim Niedbala and her fiancee, Steve Hawkins, Jeremy Abrahamson and his fiancee, Suzanne Hennessy, and Christina Williams and her husband, Oliver; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Carlson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square, Turners Falls. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery.
A calling hour will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Assoc., 72 East Concord St., C3, Boston, MA 02118.
