GREENFIELD — Elizabeth “Betty” J. (Hicks) Wojtkielewicz, 68, of Greenfield, died Monday (12-27-10) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center.

She was born in Greenfield on June 18, 1942, the daughter of Myron and Edith (Henry) Hicks. She graduated from Greenfield High School and was first chair sax in the All State Band in 1959. She also played the flute. Also, she graduated from Wards Business School in Worcester.

Betty was an IBM operator at Pro Brush in Florence.

She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church and had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

She was a member of the Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra.

Betty loved cooking and enjoyed walking.

Survivors include three brothers, Richard Hicks of North Carolina, Robert Hicks and his wife Linda of Winchester, N.H., and Thomas Hicks and his wife Penny of Northport, Fla.; several aunts and uncles including Edna Cavalear and Richard Henry and his wife Ruth Ellen, all of Greenfield, Leslie Archie Hicks and William Hicks of the state of Florida, several nieces and nephews including Jennifer Hicks of Winchester, N.H., and several cousins.

Her dear friend was Mary “Bonnie” Hurd.

A memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 221 Federal St., with the Rev. Timothy J. Campoli, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Guilford, Vt., in the spring.

There are no calling hours.
