Ronald W. Barrett
ATHOL -- Ronald W. Barrett, 66, of 160 Freedom St., formerly of Turners Falls, died Wednesday (7-22-09) at home.
He was born in Montague on Oct. 13, 1942, the son of Wallace and Orianna (Ledoux) Barrett. He was a graduate of Mahar Regional School. He was a resident of Turners Falls prior to moving to Athol in 2002.
Ron had been a part-time clerk for Stop & Shop in Greenfield. Previously, he was employed by the former Wells Tool Co.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961-1963.
Besides his mother of Orange, he leaves his wife of 40 years, the former Judith A. Patnode; three sons, Joseph LeDuc of Hinsdale, N.H., Kevin Barrett of Greenfield and Donnie Barrett of Athol; a daughter, Kimberly Carey of Sumners, Tenn; three brothers, Robert and Brent of Orange and Bruce of the state of New York; a sister, Diane Barrett of Orange; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the Kostanski Funeral Home, 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls. Burial will be in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon.
A calling hour will be Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
