Dorothy L. Mitchell GREENFIELD -- Dorothy L. (Pye) Mitchell, 68, of 54 High St., Weldon House, died Tuesday (6-16-09) at Baystate Franklin Medical Center. She was born in Birmingham, Ala., on Dec. 25, 1940, the daughter of Monroe and Minnie (Ford) Pye. She graduated from Fairfield High School in Birmingham. She had been a resident of Greenfield since 2003. Dorothy was a private housekeeper for various families. She loved music. She was predeceased by her husband, James Mitchell. Survivors include a son, Roger Pye of Greenfield; two sisters, Mary Poellnitz of Greenfield and Marcie Griswold of Texas, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Joseph DiDonato, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Green River Cemetery.
