Olive E. Fahey
GREENFIELD - Olive "Peg" E. (Lyons) Fahey, 85, of 83 Birch St., died Friday (2-9-07) at the Franklin Medical Center.
She was born in Marlboro on December 1, 1921, the daughter of William and Olive (Lord) Lyons. She was a graduate of Marlboro High School and had been a resident of Greenfield since 1946.
Peg was a claims supervisor for the Phoenix Mutual Insurance Co., retiring in 1984.
She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
She was a member of the Board of Organized Work at the Franklin Medical Center.
Peg was an avid golfer and a former member of the Country Club of Greenfield and the Thomas Memorial Golf and Country Club. Also, she was an experienced seamstress and enjoyed crafts, needlework and gardening.
Her husband, William J. Fahey, pre-deceased her on January 8, 2006.
Survivors include two sons, Richard W. and his wife, Kathie of Greenfield and Paul D. and his companion Doreen Recore of Gill, four grandchildren, Gary Walsh, Heather Bordeaux and Casey and Brady Fahey, a great-granddaughter, Karrigan Walsh and several nieces and nephews.
A daughter Susan E. Stasny, pre-deceased her on July 15, 2001.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. from the Kostanski Funeral Home, 220 Federal St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church with the Rev. Timothy J. Campoli, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be today from 4 to 7 p.m.
